Council reveal 10 year plan
Nottingham City Council have produced a document setting out its plans for the city over the next 10 years. Called The Land and Planning Document part 2 it will help developers and investors identify sites and the councils intended use for them. Planning officers will also use the document when making decisions on planning applications. New Tram Line in the planning
A new tram route from the new Waterside developments around Meadow Lane will as likely be built. From Meadow Lane the new line will travel to Gedling Borough. This is all part of Nottingham City Councils latest plans for the Cattle Market and surrounding areas. Being based on The Meadow lane area ourselves we have seen various plans come and go in the last 25 years, including one where Meadow Lane was completely removed. The only thing remaining on those plans was The Notts County ground.

Council Parking Revenue Figures Released
Figures recently released show councils in England made a combined profit of £930 million from parking revenues.

This is a 7% increase on the previous years £867 million.
Compared to the 2013-14 year revenue is up by over 40%.
£454 million of revenue came from penalties.
Nottingham Councils parking revenue does not include the £9.7 million receipts from the Work Place Levy.
London councils remain the highest earners from these activities.

New Housing Scheme Will Not Go Ahead
A new housing scheme which would have been one of the largest in the East Midlands will now not go ahead, after plans were withdrawn by developers.

It ends a 12-year battle by campaigners, who said the development was out of proportion, and that the infrastructure around it would not be able to cope.
It had been planned that a primary school, industrial areas, shops, restaurants and a health centre would all be built, with a new relief road constructed as part of the site.

New development for Bingham
A new leisure and community development has been proposed for Bingham, Notts and could be open by the end of 2021. Plans are being drawn up and consultants are working with Rushcliffe Borough Council and Bingham Town Council. The site would be a mix of commercial and leisure facilities and may include a swimming pool, gym, café, serviced offices and a community hall.
