The government has published an open letter to the UK Logistics Sector and announced plans to increase lorry driving tests.

Biggest Council Homes Build in Decades
Nottingham City Homes have appointed construction company Lovell to build the biggest council homes development for decades. in the region of 130 homes will be built consisting of 2 and 3 bedroom Houses, bungalows and flats. The site in Bestwood in Nottingham close to Beckhampton Road has planning permission in place and work should start this year. Part of a former school playing field the remaining area of the old school site will become a public green space.

This summer the standard petrol grade in the UK will become E10. Currently, UK petrol is E5, meaning it contains up to 5% bioethanol. E10 petrol will see the amount of bioethanol increase to 10%.

New PCC Saves £78,000 per year
The new Nottinghamshire Police & Crime Commissioner, Caroline Henry, says she is going to scrap the role of deputy PCC. The £78,000 saving will go back into policing.

Mrs Henry also plans to claim no expenses during her role as part of her savings plan and strategy to put more officers and resources on Nottinghamshire's streets.

Police Using Unmarked Lorry In This Area
Earlier this year Derbyshire police took delivery of the Highways England unmarked Tractor Unit. The tractor unit gives police a high vantage point to view other drivers and what they are or are not doing at the time.

200 Degrees opens another outlet
Our close neighbours 200 Degrees, a Nottingham Based coffee bean roaster is to open another coffee shop. Mosley Street in Manchester around May/June time.
