Major works planned for A52 junctions
The Highways Agency has announced major improvement works planned for the A52.
Proposals to improve the A52 Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft junctions, as part of the A52 Nottingham junctions scheme.
Local residents, businesses and motorists will be able to view proposed plans at a public exhibition, yet to be announced.
The A52 is a very important link across the East Midlands. The A52 route currently faces congestion during peak travel hours caused by the volume of traffic using the network. Highways England announced a series of junction improvements along the route.
The Stragglethorpe junction on the A52 is one of the junctions identified for improvements. The current proposal is to remove the u-turn at the Stragglethorpe junction. Whilst this will obviously improve safety and traffic flow it will be a concern for local and regular uses of the junction. For this reason a temporary closer will be put into place and monitored.
Further plans will be announced for Nottingham knight island as well as other junctions on the route.
