Is your home beeing invaded by Ants?
All this sunny weather is great for spending time out doors. But it can bring insects into your home in large numbers.
But according to one wildlife expert, rather than killing the insects, you should lure them away from your home instead.
Springwatch presenter and naturalist, Chris Packham, revealed a clever way to keep the minibeasts out of your home – just leave a bowl of sugar outside.
Killing these creatures shouldn’t be an option and chemical substances should be avoided. The nature lover said the creatures are only looking for shelter and are an important part of the ecosystem.
How to keep ants and wasps out of your home
ANTS – Place a bowl of sugar in your garden to attract ants away from your house.
WASPS – Use cardboard by windows and doors to divert their flight path away from inside your home.
'A supply of food can train ants to go anywhere you like – they are ants,' Chris told Mail Online. 'Ants are as important a part of your garden as the blue tits on the feeder.'
All that is needed, according to the broadcaster, are diversion tactics. Speaking about how to repel wasps he said: 'I plan to put a cardboard baffle up to change their flight path and then they won’t be right in front of the door.'
