Armed Forces Week
An Armed Forces flag was raised in Nottingham yesterday (25 June) to mark the start of Armed Forces Week in the county.
The event that took place at Nottinghamshire County Council on the Embankment, saw the cadets joined by Cadet Force adult volunteers, veterans, council employees and civic dignitaries.
The annual event included a veteran raising the flag who had previously served in as a National Serviceman in the Royal Army Medical Corps in the late 1950s and a flag party made up of three cadets from the Army Cadet Force (ACF), Air Training Corps (ATC) and Sea Cadets.
A cadet parade was also held ahead of the flag being raised, along with a guard of honour being formed including Standard Bearers from the Royal British Legion.
